At the prestigious Commonwealth Day Reception, our founder at Nocturnal Cloud, Pouya Hosseinpour, and CTO of The Khalili Foundation, alongside Professor Sir Nasser D. Khalili, Chairman and Founder of the Khalili Foundation, were deeply honoured to welcome His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen.
Celebrating the Commonwealth Peace Prize
A defining moment of the evening was the presentation of the inaugural Commonwealth Peace Prize, recognising outstanding commitment to global peacebuilding. This distinguished award was presented to Rev. Dr. James Movel Wuye and Imam Dr. Muhammad Nurayn Ashafa, two remarkable leaders whose unwavering dedication to fostering interfaith harmony and community reconciliation stands as an inspiration to the Commonwealth and beyond.
The award was graciously presented by The Right Honourable Patricia Scotland and Professor Sir Nasser D. Khalili, underscoring the Khalili Foundation’s commitment to advancing peace and understanding across diverse cultures and nations.
An Evening Elevated by Music and Artistry
The reception was further elevated by the debut performance of “Love in Peace”, a powerful composition by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with evocative lyrics by Ben Elton and Bruno Major. The performance, delivered by the talented singers from The BRIT School and The Queen’s College Choir, Oxford, resonated deeply with the evening’s theme of unity and hope.
This memorable event not only celebrated the values of peace, diversity, and inclusion but also highlighted the Khalili Foundation’s ongoing mission to promote interfaith understanding and cultural harmony.
